William Chesley French – February 28th, 1946 – December 12th, 2017

It is with great sadness that the French family has lost Bill French suddenly on December 12th, 2017. William Chesley French was born on February 28th, 1946 in Toronto, Ontario. Bill is survived by his wife Nancy, sons Gord (Mary) and Brad (Debbie), brother Russ (Kathy) and sister Diane (John), grandchildren Jordan, Todd, Ty, Evan and Halle, and great-grandson Rowan. Bill is predeceased by his father William, mother Shirley and grandson Dylan. 

Bill enjoyed life, and always had his wife Nancy and dog Buddy by his side. Bill had no shortage of hobbies- archery, bagpipes, jeeping, hunting, skiing and a passion for hockey. Bill was a big Flyers fan, and an even bigger Kootenay Ice fan. In life, Bill had an array of titles including Constable, Inspector, Coach, Dad, Grandpa, Papa, Uncle and Great Grandpa. Family was always most important to Bill.

A celebration of life for Bill French will be held at a later date after the new year.

  1. Sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. I worked with him at the OPP in Dryden in 1964-5 . He was a Cadet then. Condolences to the family. John and Marie McInnis
