Joan Isabelle Farrow (nee Davison) On August 27, 2017, Joan passed away peacefully in her home in Kenora, Ontario with her family by her side. Joan was born August 29, 1940, in Dryden, Ontario to Jack and Carla Davison. She met and married Merv Farrow in August of 1961. Three children entered their world: Kris, Michael, and David. Later, Joan’s tree of life grew to include her grandchildren Nathan, Kara, Leah, Hannah, Isaiah, Willem, and Moses. Her branches spread further to her great-grandchildren Gwen and Piper. Dearly loved were Sarah, Rachel, Catherine, Jason, and Cam, who made her tree complete.
Joan was deep rooted in love. She provided, as a giver, fruit from her tree to all who came in contact with her.
In lieu of flowers, Joan’s wishes were that donations be made on her behalf to Jubilee Church in Kenora, or to Forms of Hope (Lake of the Woods District Hospital).
I am sitting on a bench
Watching a butterfly spread its wings
They start to flap,
And off it goes.
He is an object of beauty
And I sit watching him
‘Til at last he fades on the horizon.
And someone at my side says,
Gone from my sight, that’s all.
The loss of sight, in me
Not in him.
And just at that moment when someone says
There are others watching him coming
Other voices take up the glad shout
“Here he comes,”
And that is dying.
