The Dryden Holiday Inn Bantam AA Paperkings wrapped up a stellar season by winning their fourth and fifth championships in Brandon and Thunder Bay.

Dryden beat the Fort Frances Canadians 4-1 in the March 5 championship game at the Thunder Bay Norwest Stars of Tomorrow Tournament with goals from Trevor Kavanaugh, Tyler Boon, Troy Williams and Joel Zeiroth.

The Paperkings had earlier travelled west to capture gold at the Brandon Tournament of Champions on the Feb. 17-20 weekend. Dryden defeated the MacDonald Lightning 4-0 in that Bantam AA Championship. Brady Desserre picked up the win in net in both finals.

Dryden finishes the year with five gold, two silver and a final 53-5-4 record.

The Paperkings also end the year ranked 2nd out of all Bantam AA teams in Ontario just behind the Mississauga 97AA Terriers according to MyHockeyRankings, the main amateur hockey ranking organization in North America. Nine Paperkings (Trevor Kavanaugh, Tyler Boon, Brendan Bartlett, Troy Williams, Mike Hodgkinson, Brandon Stanley, Joel Zieroth, Cam Zappitelli, and Josh Oberg) will now join players from Fort Frances and Kenora as part of the Northwestern Ontario Bantam AAA All-Stars.
