Swientek performs at Canada Cup

Dryden was well represented at the football Canada Cup this month.
Adam Swientek started all three games for Team Manitoba, recording numerous tackles on defence and special teams and one interception against Ontario East.
Manitoba lost their first game against the eventual winners, Saskatchewan, 26-15.
They gained momentum in the second game with a solid 16-0 win against Ontario East and lost their last game 35-3 against Ontario West.
Eagles football coach Brian Realini was there to see Swientek play and says he did the Eagles’ program proud.
“He has laid the groundwork for future players from Dryden to participate in something like this and probably opened quite a few eyes in the coaching community in Manitoba and probably the rest of the country that Dryden can and does produce good quality football players.”

The three teams faced off in a roll-off game and the girls finished with 101 pins over their average, earning them the bronze medal.
The three beat out 309 bowlers from across Canada for the third place finish and it was the first national medal for the Timber Lanes Bowling Club in recent decades.
Coach Tim Gadd, centre, says the girls played very well, averaging as a team, 110 pins over their average per game.
