Three young ladies from the Youth Bowling Club at Timber Lanes captured a bronze medal at the national championships in Gatineau, Que on May 3.
Kristen Pacheco, Alyssa Hazlewood and Baylee Huntus, representing Northern Ontario, bowled 21 games in three days and tied two other teams for second place in the tournament.
The three teams faced off in a roll-off game and the girls finished with 101 pins over their average, earning them the bronze medal.
The three beat out 309 bowlers from across Canada for the third place finish and it was the first national medal for the Timber Lanes Bowling Club in recent decades.
