The Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nations proudly opened their new small business centre to house offices for many businesses in the community.
The building was built last fall and the offices are now open for the Two Feathers main office, the Seven Generations alternative education classrooms and offices and other small businesses.
The Minister of Aboriginal Affairs, the Honourable Chris Bentley, was present to officially open the centre on Feb. 9 with Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nations’ chief Ruban Cantin, Two Feathers’ James Kroeker and other business representatives for the community.
Bentley says the community has shown great initiative in getting support for local businesses.
“The people of this community are showing a lot of entrepreneurial spirit. The business centre is a structure and it brings together the talent that’s here, brings together some people who can help contribute to the talent. You’ve got Seven Generations here; the education focus is really quite remarkable. It’s very impressive.”
A ceremony was held at Wabigoon Lake to celebrate the opening of the centre.
