the DMTS is it seems to me an outdated system, since 2000 I have tried to conduct my business from Dryden, I am currently dealing with Telus and everything is fine until I aproach Dryden then things aren't compatable. Truckers have told me that Dryden is a "dead spot" and its hard to do business here. Why does the mobile division continue to loose money and discourage business I will be retiring soon and would actually like to stay connected to the world ,I say sell it or give it up to someone who can provide a good service.

As an educator for the past 30 years, I do agree with youm that we all should take the risk of having northern reserve students be a part of the Dryden community. Who kanows that it might benefit the whole community and the high school with a new culture ingrained into the school community's fabric. As human beings, of course, we are afraid one something we do not fully understand. I wonder how it would affect K.O communties if this is out of the picture. I would recommend that K.O purchase houses to accommodate their students attending Dryden high school. They will have to send some supervisors to thees homes for their students. Iis the cost to renovate the old school somewhere near the cost of purcahsing several houses that would be beneficial for the students and the community of Dryden? The First Nations students are the focus of this expeireiment of risks. They, the First Nation parents, are ones that are taking the risk to send their young children away to school. Nobody or any parent would want to send their grade 9 child off to another city and to another person to look after their child for 8-10 months of the year. We do not have a choice. So Iam asking the community of Dryden for their understanding and blesiing for this very important project that will enhance our children's cahnces of graduating with a high school, diploma.

I truthfully believe that in the world we live in today we need to start treating people equally and we all need to learn that everyone deserves a chance in life to do good and succeed. Where these kids are living their not getting the chance to further their education and if turning pinewood school into a place to give these youth a chance to receive a high school education then of course we should let them. I do agree that more surveillance should come to the area and for the students if no improvement happens within a certain period of time your opportunity at pinewood school should be taken from you. In the long run and for the future of these kids we need to start thinking about others and not only ourselves. Let's change our views on the situation and let these kids show us what they can do.

I'm rather surprised there are no comments to date on this story for two reasons. (1) The muni's financials have been released late and with great difficulty in preparation (2) How did the City formulate a budget for 2011 (and 2012 for that matter) without having access to 2010's financials? I'd expect the muni would have a financial year-end, a certain amount of time to organize and report to the auditor and then a period of time for the actual preparation and auditing of the numbers. One would think the final numbers should be available within 5 months of year-end. I'd also fully expect the financials for all city-owned assets to be public knowledge. As a taxpayer in the city, I am getting a little worried the budget is out-of-control to the point of no return. Default looks like a possibility. The Dryden of the 1980s which minted expectations of those on council (and most voters) can not be sustained with the tax base of the new millennium. Though I hate to see it go, the City is going to have to become a shadow of its former self or face a highly embarrassing intervention. I don't think we can walk away from this mortgage!

Wow! A fine upstanding person of the community convicted, hung, drawn and quartered. Even without a trial. Think about it you peolpe. Law enforcement world wide has been spending billions of dollars every year for the last 50-60 years or more to combat narcotics and every year the drug busts are getting bigger and mega bigger. There has never been any period in which the law enforcers anywhere in the world can say that the abuse is waning. They will never ever defeat it. Prohibition failed this will eventually too. You and I and the whole government/legal system should decriminalise it. It would end a lot of criminal careers world wide in an instant. It could give governments a giant tax windfall as well. And it may also help the abusers get the help they really need, not this bandaid crap they get now. Although only a press release, but how do any of you know that this guy was actually breaking the law (a lot of it junk as it is, in my opinion), and if he was maybe he was doing it to help an addict to cope with his addiction and/or otherwise. Anyway the guy's in his fifties, why haven't the badge bearers seen his MO before this????? Hah! A rat I thinketh!
May the chemist be with you. Have a nice day.

My comment had nothing to do with police work. It had everything to do with a man's character. I, myself, am not perfect so I don't have that expectation from anyone else. A headline does not tell the whole story nor the circumstances behind it. I believe the point that many are trying to make is, wait until the man is given his day in court before you persecute him. Then....let he who is without sin throw the first stone. I'm sure you'll be first in line?
