Three of Dryden Girls Hockey teams including Atom’s Ricci’s Trucking Mighty Moose, Peewee’s Home Hardware Mighty Moose and Bantam’s Westy’s Warriors all went undefeated in round robin play and each ended up in the gold medal final.
The Atom Mighty Moose ended up shutting out their opponents, in a well rounded team effort, 7-0 to secure the GOLD medal. Emma Bighead-Loon picked up the shut-out and MVP, while Kiera Wright earned the Hustler Award.
The Bantam Westy’s Warriors ended their final 8-3, winning GOLD for Dryden as well. Hailey Bouchard and Sydney Cloutier earned the honor of the Hustler award and MVP respectively.
Finally the Peewee Mighty Moose were also GOLD Medal winners with a dominating score of 8-2 against the Peguis Warriors. Molly McMurrich lead the way with 6 points including a hat trick while Claudia Trist, Shania Gardner, Norah Meeks, Courtney McCoy and Sophie Armit all chipped in with singles!
A fun side to the tournament was the Shootout Skills Competition. Our three talented girls teams won this event as well.
These three teams are our competitive Girls Hockey teams. We believe this is a spectacular accomplishment for Girls Hockey in our region, to win all games in round robin in addition to all three of our Dryden teams winning their Gold Medal games on the same tournament weekend. We are not sure if this has happened before, as it seems rare, however we are hoping this will happen for Dryden Girls Hockey again and again.
