At the February 20th City of Dryden Council Meeting, a conditional land purchase agreement between the City and Bridge Road Developments for the property of 310 Van Horne Avenue was approved. The purpose of the land purchase agreement is to build active living housing for those 55+, within the City of Dryden.

“We (Bridge Road) have discovered that Dryden is not unlike many rural communities across the Prairies,” says Travis Penner, Vice President of Bridge Road Developments.

“As people age, their desire to move out of their home and into a low maintenance living situation increases, but many are leaving their hometowns to move into a larger centre due to the lack of suitable housing. We are very excited to be working together with investors, tenants, trades and City officials to provide an option for the citizens of Dryden to age in place.”

Bridge Road Developments has built 55+ Active Living Apartments in 25 communities across Manitoba and Saskatchewan, along with one apartment development in Kenora.

“Bridge Road’s Development (at 310 Van Horne Avenue) is a positive first step for the City (of Dryden), in developing more diverse housing options for our residents. We are happy to build an ongoing relationship with Bridge Road,” says Tyler Peacock, Economic Development Manager at the City of Dryden.

Bridge Road Developments anticipates construction commencing in Fall 2019.
