On Friday, February 2nd, Dryden residents flocked to The Centre for the first ever Whiskey Wonderland tasting event hosted by the Dryden Area Young Professionals Network (DAYPN).
As its name suggests, patrons were able to taste a variety of whiskeys, as well as scotches and wines. The sold out event brought in over 70 of Dryden’s residents to try something new. Co-Organizer Catherine Kiewning was pleased to see so many new faces at the event.
“We were not surprised that the event sold out but we were surprised to see people who have never attended our events or heard of our organization before,” said Kiewning. “I had to explain that our events are for everyone not just ‘young professionals’.”
All DAYPN activities are based around three tenets of service: social and professional networking, civic involvement, and skills development, and all events are open to anyone who is interested regardless of age, with the exception of age of majority events. Future events include Trivia Nights at The Mystic Grill on Sunday evenings and an Entrepreneurial Panel on March 2nd, 2018.
