The Dryden GM Ice Dogs played one game last week on Tuesday, January 23.

Hosting the English River Miners at the Dryden Memorial Arena, the Ice Dogs had many power play opportunities in the first frame. It wasn’t until their last power play opportunity of the first period that team captain Trevor Kavanaugh opened the scoring.

The second period belonged to English River as Mark Ziobro got his team on the board. Later in the frame Ethan Wong got the Miners on top.

In the hard fought third period Kris Hamlin was able to capitalize on the power play with less than three minutes left to play to tie the game and force extra time.

With under a minute left in the over time frame Terix Fischer-Kobes got one past Landon Pavlisin to gain a over time win for The Miners.

The Ice Dogs are in Fort Frances this week to play games at the SIJHL Showcase.

The Dogs will be back in Dryden on Sunday at Mystic Grill Restaurant hosting a Super Bowl party from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person.
