Eagles basketballers clinch NorWOSSA gold, host NWOSSA challengers this weekend

It was a great week for Eagles girls basketball teams at NorWOSSA championships in Kenora as the DHS senior girls team grabbed a gold medal in a 34-28 win over the host beaver Brae Broncos. The team will host their Thunder Bay challengers in the NWOSSA final Nov. 17-18 at DHS.
The junior girls were stopped in the semi-final by Beaver Brae in a heartbreaking single-point loss 33-32.
In volleyball action, both Dryden boys teams were  halted in the seni-finals. The junior championship went to Fort Frances in a 3-1 win over Kenora. On the senior side, Kenora claimed a 3-1 win over Fort Frances.            Photo submitted
