Dryden Rotary Club pays tribute to community volunteers

The Dryden Rotary Club played host to some special guests, Oct. 25 as it bestowed honourary Paul Harris Fellowships in recognition of the community building efforts of two local individuals. Honoured were the Dryden Mission’s Jim Shearer and local artist Willene Moffatt.  Pictured from left are Rotarians Janet Shaffer, Mardi Plomp, recipient Jim Shearer, recipient Willene Moffatt and Rotarian Ed Iskra.

The banquet also doubled as the club’s annual Performing Arts Awards Night which recognizes youth achieving excellence in the Royal Conservatory of Music program as well as public speaking in the schools.

He served his first newspaper internship at The Dryden Observer in 1998 while attending journalism studies at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops B.C.
