A week of holiday-themed fundraising events in support of Grace Haven Life Enrichment Program will culminate with a few shows from Canadian R&B legend Luke McMaster.
On Saturday, Dec. 5, the ‘Let’s Raise a Glass’ concert will be combined with a dinner event beginning at 6 p.m. accompanied by background pianist Sharon Riives.
On Sunday, McMaster will stage his show at 8 p.m.
Formerly one half of gold selling Canadian duo McMaster & James, Luke McMaster cut his teeth with some of the biggest acts of the day, including sharing the stage with Randy Bachman, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and more. An in-demand songwriter with multiple credits and collaborations with such global superstars as Rihanna, Luke has returned to his performing roots as a solo artist.
Heavily influenced by such icons as Al Green, Hall & Oates and Marvin Gaye, Luke’s first solo album All Roads was released by EMI/UMG in January 2013, as a “Romantic but powerful collection of new originals and covers of all time classic love songs, in a contemporary tribute to Blue Eyed Soul and early Motown”. It included Luke’s smash hit Good Morning Beautiful (feat. Jim Brickman), that successfully vaulted to #3 on the Billboard AC Radio Charts across the USA.
Luke is currently working on a project titled Icons of Soul for release in Spring 2018. Icons of Soul uniquely marries contemporary songwriting with legendary songwriters. The album will feature both new co-writes with iconic Motown songwriters including Grammy award winner, Felix Cavaliere (Groovin’, Good Lovin) and Lamont Dozier (80 Top 10 Hits including 13 in a row for The Supremes: Stop! In the Name of Love, Baby, I Need Your Lovin’) and more as well as fresh covers of some of these classic writer’s greatest hits.
