Always the first sign of the Holiday season to come, the Dryden Regional Arts Council’s (DRAC) Annual Holiday Handcrafters Market celebrated 40 years in Dryden over the weekend.
From food to clothing, jewellery and other handmade wares, the event saw hundreds of eager shoppers pour through the former Eagles Landing curling club in search of something special and unique, Oct. 13-14.
DRAC’s Helen Grymaloski says over 40 exhibitors hailed from Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Sioux Lookout, Atikokan, Fort Frances as well as local home-based businesses.
“We have a really nice group of people who come out,” said Grymaloski. “It’s changed up a bit because we had to change the dates this year, the way Thanksgiving sat, it ended up a bit later. We lost some exhibitors who couldn’t make it because of their schedules, but we brought it new people who were able to make it, so it freshened things up.”
