A strong showing for Dryden High School track athletes as they travelled to International Falls for the Bronco Booster Invitational 2016. Both male and female teams placed second in combined points behind their hosts. Some exceptional results were Jacob Benson (seen above followed by Alex Urquhart) who smashed a 16-year track record in the boys 1,600m by eight seconds (4:43:81). Kadin Taylor (seen right) grabbed gold medals in the 110m and 300m hurdles and bronze in the long jump. Mike Braun also grabbed a pair of gold medals in the 400m and 800m distances. On the girls side, Maddie Lambert took gold in the girls 800m and 1,600m distances. Callie Kirouac earned silver in the 200m, Lindsay Coles struck gold in the discus and Arielle Penner and Ally Wisneski medalled in a variety of events. Photos courtesy Joey Payeur/Fort Frances Times
