Health Fest 2014 held at the centre in Dryden on March 27 saw a huge turn out of interested people looking to learn more about healthy living.

The event, funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care in conjunction with the Dryden Area Family Health Team, the Dryden Regional Health Centre and the Dryden Diabetes Centre was all made possible because of Dryden’s statistics when it comes to diabetes in the community.

The goal of the event was to bring together local organizations with a focus on health and well-being. The evening included free snacks and smoothies and featured presentations by Corrine Lund (Zumba), Richard McIvor (dance), Dr. Bruce Cook and Kerry Holland, local Karate instructors, Mike Wood, Lokah Sangha Yoga, nursing staff and Second Chance Pet Network.

Director of the Dryden Area Family Health Team Lucy Venne-Fecho hands out free items and information to those who attended the first annual Health Fest held at the centre in Dryden on March 27.
