CJ Jolicouer is Dryden high school’s athlete of the week for her hard work and keeping up with the boys. This season Jolicouer plays alongside her boys on the football field as a kicker that they once never had. This football team had been looking for a kicker in the beginning of their season which Jolicouer effortlessly joined in on. Other places you can see her play are at the rink in the goalie’s net for the Dryden hockey team, and also on the soccer field, defending the Eagles. Jolicouer’s favourite memory is quotes as “Kropelin in Kenora lol.” which came from her Eagles soccer tournament in Kenora. She hopes to go to OFSAA for hockey and soccer in the future seasons. When she isn’t busy playing sports, Jolicouer likes to read and do homework and continues to excel with her studies at school. Jolicouer will end her football season next week on Friday in Winnipeg, where they will play St.Norbert in their final game. Good luck CJ Jolicouer!

Athlete of the Week is awarded to junior boys’ volleyball player, Noah Palermo. Palermo is an all around player, but a natural power. He helps his teammates when necessary and is a quiet leader while on the court. Palermo’s favourite memory of being an Eagles athlete is winning NorWOSSA in his Grade 9 year. While now in Grade 10 at DHS, he has high hopes for his team to achieve the NorWOSSA championship again. When he isn’t practicing, playing, or at camps, Palermo enjoys the outdoors and hunting with his dad. His next appearance on the court is this Thursday, October 10, against the Beaver Brae Broncos. Come on out to support your local DHS athletes!
