Armed with a remote shutter release and a variable neutral density filter to slow down his daytime exposures, Observer editor Chris Marchand hiked to the semi-remote Ghost Falls, which runs between Ghost Lake and Mavis Lake, to experiment with some image-making ideas. Photos by Chris Marchand

THe only composite image of the set. Two images were combined to make this photographic paradox possible — a first using a fast shutter speed (1/160 sec) to capture the subject jumping, and a second exposure of 6 seconds to achieve the blur action on the waterfall.
