Richard (Doug) Wise – 1932 – 2012
On Feb 11, 2012 at The Dryden Regional Health Centre, Richard Douglas Wise (Doug) passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
Doug is survived by his wife Dolores May (Baker), his children, Cheryl Kroeker, Ron (Donna), Cliff (Karen), Glenn (Gail), Marie Danielson (Burt), Larry (Brenda) and Ralph (Tammy), his fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, his sister Bernice Perzel and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents Richard and Emily, his brother Leonard, his sisters Grace, Marion and Burla, son-in-law Kenneth and great granddaughter Justice.
Doug was born in Kenora in 1932.
In 1952 he married Dolores and together they had seven children.
From 1950-1969, he worked for Canadian Pacific Railway as a car man and a crane operator attending many wrecks.
In 1969 he started with Mando/Boise Cascade Woodlands as a welder/mechanic until 1978.  In 1979, he worked with Great Lakes Forest Products until his retirement.
In 1977 Doug and Dolores moved to Eagle River for the love of the land and soon his entire family followed.  Doug lived for his family, especially Sunday morning breakfasts where the family would all meet at their place.
There was no Visitation as cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Funeral Service was held Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at The Dryden Community Funeral Home.  Interment of ashes will be at a later date.
