With the resignation of Sarah Campbell following her successful election to MPP, her seat has sat empty with the Kenora District Service Board (KDSB).
Following a call for nominations in the unorganized territory, only one applicant submitted within the allotted time frame, leading to the acclamation of Ray LeRay, former KDSB board member.
“I enjoyed being on the board before, I was on a lot of committees and I thought I was doing a decent job.  When the position came open, I thought well, I’ll try and get back on,” said LeRay.
KDSB will also say goodbye to their director of Housing Services, Adrian De Porto who will be retiring effective March 30, 2012.
“Just looking forward to retirement, I have enjoyed working here, but it’s time,” said De Porto.
