Robert Parker – December 28, 2011
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert Joseph Parker announces his passing after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Robert passed away,  at the age of 58 years, on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre with his family by his side.
Bob is survived by his wife Donna; daughter Michelle (Kevin) and son Robert (Kirsten); two grandchildren,  Miriah and Tanner Roulston who were his pride and joy; his mother Sidonie Parker; sister Maryann (Perry) Baxter, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Joseph Parker.
Bob was well known for his 30-plus years of service at Dingwall Ford (his second family) as the parts and service man. He enjoyed tinkering with all engines from motorcycles to tractors. He took great pride in caring and growing for all kinds of plants, tomatoes being his favourite.
Bob enjoyed traveling the western parts of Canada and hitting the rodeo and tractor shows. Every morning Dad could be found checking the weather and texting his family and friends with the latest weather reports.
Bob was often seen fixing the fences to keep the horses in … not one of his favourite pastimes. What was one of Bob’s favourite and most cherished pastimes was enjoying life with his family from the fishing trips to the many late nights just sitting at the fire.
May God be with you and keep you safe until we meet again; we will miss and always love you.
Funeral services for Bob were held Monday, January 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Moffat Chapel of Stevens Funeral Homes with Velma Henderson officiating. Interment followed in the Oxdrift Cemetery.
