The City Of Dryden announced last week that the community’s economic development manager, Vicki Kurz, has resigned her post.

Stefanie Armstrong, small business consultant for the Dryden office of the Northwest Business Centre, will act as the interim Economic Development Manager until a candidate is found to fill the role permanently.

Kurz will pursue a home-based consulting venture.

Dryden City Council accepted Ms. Kurz’s resignation with regret in open session, Jan. 15, recognizing her leadership role with the city’s senior management team over the past five-and-a-half years.

Councillor Mike Wood said Kurz achieved a great deal for the city’s level of investment readiness.

“We have transitioned from not being prepared to being fully prepared. The progress that has been made and noticed by others is without a doubt significant,” said Wood. “Down to a person, I have not met anyone from outside Dryden who has not commented on the effort, skill and tenacity she has lent to her job. Dryden is a much better place and a much different place than it was five years ago.”
