Dryden Ice Dogs forward, Ryan Lobreau was selected as the Pizza Hut Player of the Week for the period of Nov. 28 to Dec. 4.

In three games, the 20-year old Dryden native registered six points helping his short-staffed side record a pair of key victories and move into fourth place in the SIJHL?standings.

“It’s a huge honour, and I tried very hard to get the points, which won me the award,” said Lobreau.

Lobreau opened up with a goal in a come-from-behind win at Fort Frances on Nov. 30, supplied an assist during a road setback vs. Sioux Lookout on Dec. 2 and then completed his week by scoring three times, including the game-winner, while setting up another in a home ice triumph against the Flyers on Dec. 3.

In the process he extended a consecutive game point streak to seven having also picked up points in nine of his past 10 outings as well as 21 of 25 games he has played so far this season.

At time of award, Lobreau was leading the Ice Dogs in offensive production, sitting fifth overall in the SIJHL as well, with 37 points on 15 goals and 22 assists. He has also amassed 20 power play points, which leads the league.

“I think I’ve been playing the same, grinding it out, going to the net hard, putting some pucks in the net,” said Lobreau. “I’ve been getting the right balances, and getting a lot of help from my line mates.”

Lobreau says going forward, his goal is to be stronger on the puck.

The Dryden forward will receive a gift card courtesy of Pizza Hut for his on-ice contributions.
