Ice conditions strand deer


In a year that has seen extremely rare ice conditions develop on Wabigoon Lake, Parker Point resident Brian Davidson says deer in the vicinity of his lakefront home recently became stranded, their hooves unable to find traction on the bare lake ice. Not particularly keen on watching the animals scramble helplessly and succumb to predators in front of his house, Davidson says he used his all-terrain vehicle to deliver the animals to shore.

While they complained at first, Davidson says his help was grudgingly accepted. Photos submitted
