Local teachers good sports for a good cause

An epic struggle Hundreds of Open Roads students line the Riverview School gym as teachers Mr. Cortens and Mrs. Trist, covered in all manner of goo and sticky slime, battle their way to the finish line pushing balls with their noses. It’s fast becoming a tradition at local elementary schools — local teachers suffering all manner of indignities in the hopes of raising some money and awareness for cancer research through the Terry Fox Foundation. Held in conjuction with the annual Terry Fox Walk/Run. Schools like New Prospect and Open Roads also hosted Teacher Challenges, classroom fundraisers to see their teachers and principals in a variety of ridiculous and often sticky situations.
