The Murillo Mudhens earned a first place finish at the ladies fastball tournament at the Sandy Beach Ball Diamonds over the weekend.The team took on the Kakabeka Explorers for top spot, taking the ‘A’ side final with a score of 9-6.
The ‘B’ side final saw a draw between the Thompson’s Paint Shop Angels and the A&W Devils.
The ‘C’ side final showcased the DMTS Swingers take down the Pizza Hut/The Pet Store Stealers with a score of 15-5.
The two-day tournament featured all seven ladies fastball teams from Dryden, Eagle Lake, Kakabeka, Thunder Bay and Winnipeg, with a total of 12 teams participating.
A skills competition also saw some of the best competitors in the tournament showcase their throwing, batting and running capabilities.
