The Dryden Dolphins swim club took home some serious hardware at the Manitoba / Saskatchewan Open Long Course Swimming Championships in Winnipeg July 7-11.

Over the course of the four-day swim meet, 360 athletes from 24 teams out of Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan competed at the Winnipeg Pan Am Pool.

Kira Kuzemchuk, in the 13-year-old female category captured three silver medals in the 100m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke and 400m individual medley events.

Two bronze medals were secured in the 50m freestyle and 200m individual medley events by Kuzemchuk, making this her best performance at a provincial level event to date.

In the 12-year-old male category, Alex Urquhart earned personal best times in six of his seven events.  Urquhart qualified for finals twice in his first provincial swim meet, earning a 5th place and 6th place finish in the 100m and 200m breaststroke events.

The last meet of the season for the Dryden Dolphins will see Kuzemchuk representing Dryden at the age group Nationals Long Course Championships held in Montreal, Quebec from July 27-31, 2011.  Kuzemchuk will be swimming all the breaststroke and individual medley events.
