News — 01 March 2011
Sometime during the night of Feb. 28, vandals broke into the Dryden Ski Club, stole merchandise and vandalized the building.
Club Manager, Paul Taylor arrived at the hill early morning, March 1, to prepare for a school group, and found the ski patrol rescue sleigh sitting out by the main gate, empty.
The ski patrol building was broken into, and every set of skis that were not secured in a locked locker are missing as well as one Skandic snowmachine.
One of the large double pane glass windows on the main chalet building has been smashed, and entry was gained to the building.  At press time nothing was reported missing from the chalet, but with only hours since the crime to time of press, investigations are underway.
The Dryden OPP is attending the scene, and Taylor was forced to cancel the school group due to the damage to the chalet as well as the investigation.
Cash revenue that was onsite was locked behind a large steel door, and appears to be accounted for, but until the investigation is complete, list of damages and theft are to be determined.
If you have any information on this crime, please contact the Dryden OPP at 223-2221 or Crimestoppers.
