The Dryden High School Eagles boys hockey team have wrapped up their regular season with two wins and a loss.
Playing Kenora on Thur., Feb. 17, Jared Stratford, Blair Dingwall, Cody Kaus and Zack Pitchenese made the win with a final score of 6-4 for DHS, with Kim Wildhaber in net for the victory.
Coach Jamie Oltsher says the team overcame a 3-0 first period deficit with a solid effort in the final two periods.
Game two saw a matchup with Red Lake, and another win with the final score showing 5-2 for the Eagles.
Although it was a very physical and penalty-filled game, Cody Kaus, Tyler Kirouac and Blair Dingwall all found the back of the net, with Justin Oltsher in the net for the win.
The last game saw a loss of 4-0 for DHS to Red Lake, but both teams played shortened benches due to injuries and suspensions.
Oltsher says it was another physical game, and Red Lake goalie, Scott Sidders, played extremely well for the shutout.
“It was a tough week for us as we experienced a couple season ending injuries.  Jared Stratford  (groin) and Tyler Kirouac (broken clavicle) will be missed by the team,” said Oltsher.
