Michael Stachowich passed away peacefully at Dryden Regional Health Centre on January 11, 2011 with his family by his side.Mike was born in Horod, Manitoba on November 24, 1925 and moved to Dryden in 1954 where he was employed in the Woodland division of the Dryden paper mill until his retirement in 1989. He was one of four children born to the late Alex and Katherin Stachowich and was the beloved husband of Rose for 56 years.
Mike will also be forever remembered by his beloved children, Judy Flatt (Neil), Janice Langlais, Jim Stachowich (Diana), and Louise Radford (Dave). Mike will also be treasured by his 11 grandchildren and one great grandson, and remembered by his countless friends and family whom were blessed to know him. Mike is also survived by his sister-in-law Victoria Stachowich.
Mike was predeceased by his son-in-law Jerry Langlais, brother Fred and sisters Ann and Mary.
Mike loved fishing, camping, gardening and spending time with his friends. Mike touched the lives of many people with his smile, wit and sense of humour all the way to the end.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 15th at 1:30 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Alan Campeau officiating. Interment followed in the Dryden Cemetery.
Visitation took place Friday, January 14th at 6:00 p.m. with prayers recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Moffat Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Mike’s grandchildren Jason Langlais, Ashley Budowski, Kevin Budowski, Dustin Tkachyk, Brodie Radford and son-in-law Neil Flatt.
