In loving memory of Clifford Lesley Pollard, age 76 of Dryden, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.Cliff was born on December 29, 1933 in Rainy River, Ontario.
Cliff received his education in the Rainy River District and moved to Dryden in 1962. He worked at the Dryden Paper company over the next 10 years. He moved on to work for D.E. & J. C. Hutchison Contracting until his retirement in 1985.
During his retirement, Cliff enjoyed gardening, along with many hunting trips to the cabin with his “boys”. He enjoyed spending quality time with family and close friends. He seldom missed family gatherings and special occasions, where he cherished his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. One of Cliff’s favourite pastimes was people-watching, making new friends and telling stories. He also had a love for music.
Clifford is survived by his brothers Clarence (Arlene), Chancler (Elsie), Lawrence (Anne), Donny (Marie); children, John (Coleen), Terry (Rose), Sandra, Lorrie (Paul), Douglas (Clover), Helen, Jason (Tracy), along with numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Clifford is predeceased by his brothers David, Eugene, Laverne and Gary; sisters Gladys and Helen. He is also predeceased by his wife Darlene and daughter Connie.
A funeral service was held on Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Dryden Community Funeral Home. A private interment followed at the Dryden Cemetery.
