The City of Dryden Fire Service hosted a Federal and Provincial Long Service Awards Ceremony Saturday, Dec. 4, and eleven Dryden members received 20, 30, and 40 year medals or service bars recognizing appreciation for, dedication, hard work, loyal and meritorious service to public safety in Ontario and Canada. Presentations were conducted by the Deputy Fire Marshal of Ontario Mr. Ted Wieclawek from Toronto, and Dryden Mayor Craig Nuttall at a formal ceremony, dinner and dance held at the Best Western and attended by 105 Dryden Fire Service members and guests.
Captain John Kitt was presented with his third Federal award of “The Fire Services Exemplary Bars” and “The Provincial Fire Service Bars” in recognition of 40 years of loyal and exemplary service to public safety in Ontario and Canada.
Award recipients included:
-20 year Federal “The Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal”, Len Kusnick, Guy Langlais, Bill Lundstrom, Murray Miller, Jim Osborne, Ardel Oversby, and Ron Saindon.
-30 year Federal “The Fire Services Exemplary Service Bars”, Ken Kurz and John Popien.
-30 year Federal and Provincial “The Fire Services Exemplary Service Bars”, Fire Chief Darryl Herbert.
