The Dryden Eagles senior boys volleyball teams wrapped up an impressive season, falling in the ‘AA’ consolation semi-final at OFSAA, Nov. 26.
Sudbury’s Chippewa would send the local team packing in two sets (25-17, 25-19) and put an end to local hopes at the All Ontario Volleyball Championships in Mississauga.
Seeded fourth for the tournament, the Eagles won their opening game against Timiskaming (25-13, 26-24) and added another win against hometown hosts St. Paul (25-16, 25-19).
But before the day was through the club would meet their match against Walkerville losing 25-19, 25-17.
The following morning was marked by another loss, this time at the hands of Windsor’s Norwell who battled to a 25-23, 26-24 win over the Eagles.
Finishing third in their pool with a record of 2-2 they entered the consolation round.
After an easy win against Oshawa’s Monsignor J. Pereyma High School (25-12, 25-12), the team advanced to the consolation semi-final where their tournament ended against Sudbury’s Chippewa.
