In loving memory of Monique Turbide.

Monique was born in Jogues, Ontario on May 5, 1932.  She moved to the Dryden area with her family in 1957.

Monique was a homemaker, volunteered with the Red Cross for years and worked as a janitor at the DRHC and at the high school.  She enjoyed many hobbies, bingo, casino jaunts, fishing, camping and hunting, picking blueberries and canning for the winter.

Monique passed away peacefully into God’s hands on October 25, 2010 with family at her bedside at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.  She was predeceased by her husband Léopold, son Gérald and daughter Lyne, parents Gédéon and Fabiola Dorval, her sister Juliette and brothers Raoul, Clément, Laurent and Victor.  Monique is survived by her children Regent (Jamie) of Dryden, Réal of Thunder Bay, Éloi (Flo) of Dryden, Lise of Dryden, Norman (Susanne) of Burlington and Richard (Lee) of Igloolik, Nunavut.

Fondly remembered by grandchildren Tanya Turbide, Gérald, Gaétan and Angèle Bibeau, Brandon and Chelsea-Lee Turbide, Joey and Sabrina Lachapelle;  Great-grandchildren Kayne, Haven, Zander and Taya Turbide-White, Stephen Greaves, Brayden and Kayden Hewlin, Kaleb and Lucas Lachapelle.  She is also survived by brothers Germain of Ste-Thérèse, Québec, Gaston of White River, Domimique (Suzanne) of Ste-Thérèse, Québec, Armand of Kapuskasing, Gaëtan of Moonbeam and her sister Yvonne of Smooth Rock Falls.  Monique will be sadly missed by her companion, Bruno Fex, her children, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, her extended family and friends.  Monique’s laughter and generosity will be missed but not forgotten.  Many will also remember her home-baked bread.

Visitation for the late Monique Turbide was held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. with prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Dryden Community Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Father Al Campeau officiating.  The family would like to thank the Pallbearers, Gérald Bibeau, Gaétan Bibeau, Joey Lachapelle, Stephen Greaves, Chris Hewlin and Eric Donaldson.
