The Superior International Junior Hockey League recently named Dryden Ice Dogs goaltender Ian Perrier Pizza Hut player of the week for the period ending Oct. 24.
In two games this past week, at the SIJHL Showcase in Spooner, Wis., the Whitehorse, Yukon native posted shutouts in both contests he played.
He began with an impressive 32-save performance in a 4-0 victory vs. Fort William on Oct. 22 and followed that up with 23 stops the following evening helping the Ice Dogs edge Wisconsin 1-0 in overtime.
Perrier, who just turned 20 on Oct.17, rode a streak of 128 minutes without allowing a goal. He also tops all netminders in the league in shutouts with three.
For his on-ice accomplishments Perrier will receive a gift card courtesy of Pizza Hut.
