The Dryden Pool and Fitness Centre played host to seven visiting regional swim teams over the weekend as the Dryden Dolphins Swim Club hosted the Go! 2010 Regional Swim Meet. To see how Dryden swimmers performed at the meet, please see page 10.

On Saturday, October 16, the Dryden Dolphins hosted the Go! 2010 Swim Meet. Teams from across the Northwest Region travelled to Dryden to compete: Thunder Bay Thunderbolts, Northwest Narwhals (Thunder Bay), Superior Sea Lions (Thunder Bay), Fort Frances Cyclones, Fort Frances Aquanauts, Kenora Swimming Sharks, and Red Lake Goldfins.
The Go! 2010 was structured as a 400 m Challenge where each swimmer could participate in a 200 m event, a 100 m event, and two 50 m events.
Sixteen athletes represented the Dryden Dolphins – four for whom this was their first competitive swim meet. The Dolphins collectively had an impressive 38 podium finishes:

In conjunction with the swim meet, the athletes attended a Dryland Training Camp in the morning and participated in Nutrition and Stretching workshops. Parents and community volunteers participated in Officials Training the night prior to and the morning of the swim meet. The weekend activities concluded on Sunday, October 17 with the Swim Ontario – Northwest Region General Meeting.
