Second Chance Pet Network is gaining fast popularity with their Pepsi Refresh drive to win a grant for $100,000.
With messages and links all over Facebook, and the attraction of local media, Second Chance is having immeasurable success placing them in second rank for the national challenge.
With Pepsi offering the large grant to only one of the 300 different organizations eligible, Second Chance is pleading with local residents to remember to vote daily and help the shelter in the running for funds.
If the shelter was successful in winning the competition, the grant money would be used to build a new shelter for its hundreds of feral, unwanted, abandoned and stray cats and dogs.
This grant would fund the building and land needed, as well as the appropriate kennel facilities for larger animals, and a full time supervisor.
Voting is open until October 31 and people are eligible to vote once daily. Make sure to write it on your calendar, in your Blackberry, or on your fridge, and remember to vote every day.
To cast your daily vote, go to http://www.refresheverything.ca/scpnshelter and register. All you need is an email address.
