Dryden Eagles took to the field for their first home game on Friday, September 17 going head to head with the Murdoch McKay Clansmen.
The Clansmen had a 14 -0 first quarter lead, adding nine in the second quarter, making the score 23 – 0 at half time.
With the Clansmen scoring again in the final two quarters, the Eagles did take a loss of 43 – 0.
Geoff Zilkalns of DHS says the Clansmen played more physically than the Eagles, and the Dryden team couldn’t quite get any of their plays to consistently work.
With so many new players, Zilkalns says the team is not quite ready yet to play at this level, but says the team is not as far off as the score suggests.
Zilkalns also says the team needs to focus on themselves right now, and hopefully start making some progress.
The Eagles  travel to Winnipeg next Thursday the 23rd to face Miles Mac.  Next home game will be homecoming, slated for Friday, October 8 at 2 pm.  The Eagles will be up against the Steinbach Sabres.
