Schmidt, MacKinnon add names to council race

With nominations officially closed as of Sept. 10 at 2 p.m, there have been two names entered in the race for mayor in Dryden, along with11 names submitted for council.
There are six positions available for councillor, one for mayor, one trustee in both English and French Public School Boards, two for English Separate School Board trustee, and one vacancy for French Separate School Board trustee.
In the running for mayor in Dryden sits incumbent Anne Krassilowsky in a race with former councillor  Craig Nuttall.
In the running for council are incumbents Brian Collins, Gary Case, Mike Wood, and Mel Fisher.  Newcomers to the race include Ken Moss, Mary Trist, Adam Riley, Joe Delaney, Richard Jonasson, Martin C. MacKinnon and Krag Schmidt.
School board trustee Ed Arnold will campaign to keep his position against David Wilkinson.
The French Separate School Board vacancy may be filled with sole nominee Lorraine M. Marston.
Two nominees have let their name stand for the English Separate School Board trustee vacancies including Robert Van Oort and Kathy Bryck.
