With it being election time in the City of Dryden, names are coming forward to fill the positions available including mayor, six positions for council, English Public School Board Trustee, French Public School Board Trustee, two vacancies for English Separate School Board Trustee and French Separate School Board Trustee.
At time of press, there was one name put forward for the position of Mayor being Anne Krassilowsky and five names put forward for councillors. Those running for council are Ken Moss, Brian Collins, Gary Case, Mary Trist and Adam Riley.
As for the school boards, there are no names put forward for English or French Public School Board, nor is there a name for French Separate School Board.
Two names have been put forward for the English Separate School Board positions, including Robert Van Oort and Kathy Bryck.
Nominations will close on September 10, 2010 at 2 pm with elections being held on Monday, October 25, 2010.
Nominees must submit the Nomination Form, the Declaration of Qualification Form the nomination filing fee and proper identification to be considered for election. The filing fee for the office of mayor is $200 and the fee for council or school board trustee is $100.
If a greater number of candidates are certified than are required to fill the said offices, there will be an election. If the number of candidates is not sufficient to fill the offices, additional nominations may be filed with the Returning Officer on September 15, 2010 between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.
