Mike Marion captured the title of Dryden strongman for the second year in a row at the 2010 Strongman Competition on Saturday, July 31.
After a successful trial run last year, involving numerous participants from all over Northwestern Ontario and Manitoba, this year featured new events and some new competitors.
Dryden was well represented by defending champion Mike Marion and local strongmen Lannie Skene and Joe Baxter.
Ignace’s Joe Lecyure traveled the furthest for the competition.
First time competitor Skene finished second in the competition while Baxter, who also competed in last year’s competition, finished third.
The truck pull was the new event added to this year’s competition as well as the deadlift.
The competition took place on Queen Street, outside of the Royal Canadian Legion.
