Obituaries — 11 August 2010
It is with sadness the De Clercq family announces the passing of Marie Lorraine De Clercq, wife, mother, grandmother, age 68 of Dryden, who passed away on Friday, July 23rd, 2010 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
Marie leaves to mourn, her husband of 48 years Ray; daughter, Donna (Chris) of Dryden; daughter-in-law Ali De Clercq (Dan); granddaughters, Michelle St. Laurent and Drew De Clercq, and grandson Marc St. Laurent.
She was predeceased by her son Guy De Clercq, father Octaf Mol, mother Mary Deneweth, brothers-in-law: Wally, Leo, George, Bill, Bob and Raf.
She is survived by her sister Irene Prokipchuk of Winnipeg; brother Ernie Mol (Merna) of Pinnawa; sisters-in-law Lorraine Schmidt of Winnipeg, Rena of Sask., Louise of Edmonton, Linda (Norm) of Winnipeg; brothers-in-law Joe Becker of Lac Du Bonnet, Den (Linda) of Alberta, and Ken (Rita) of B.C.
Marie and Ray were married March 2, 1962 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and moved to Dryden that same year. In 1967 they started the Centennial Plumbing and Heating business. In 1975 they bought the school bus business, and in 1976 they added a sewage truck to the business. Marie worked in the business driving bus and looking after the office until retiring in 2003. She loved every aspect of business including all the business associates, but mostly her staff. They shared a lot of good years together, they were like her extended family.
Marie adored her grandchildren, Michelle even went on some school bus runs when she was a baby, going to camp on Horst Lake, travelling to Florida and Wisconsin Dells. Her youngest grandchild Drew was always at Grandma’s and Grandpa’s when she was younger. Marie always spoiled her grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by family, especially her grandchildren and many friends.
At Marie’s request there was no Visitation or Service. Interment will happen at a later date.
