The family of Maureen Elaine Murray are saddened to announce her passing on June 30th 2010 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
Maureen was born in Dryden on July 4th 1945 to David and Carrie Birnie. She was raised and educated in Dryden. Her employment took her to Winnipeg, where she met her husband Len Murray. They resided in Winnipeg until after the birth of their second daughter Debby in 1971. Later in the same year they moved back to Dryden.
Maureen had a great sense of humour and loved spending time with family and friends. Camping, playing cards and dancing were favourite past times. Later she became involved in volunteering. Maureen went back to school and got her grade 12 diploma which she was very happy and proud of earning.
Maureen is survived by her daughter Debby, sister Linda Brignall and brothers Bill (Kandiss) Birnie and Ron (Elfriede) Birnie all of Dryden.
Maureen was predeceased by her infant daughter Carrie, parents David & Carrie Birnie, brother in law Hugh Brignall and sister in law Lucy Birnie.
A Memorial Service was held on Monday, July 5th at 2:00 p.m. in the Ukrainian Hall. Interment of ashes will be held in the Dryden Cemetery at a later date.
