City of Dryden residents will see some changes in their tax rates for 2010.  Although the municipal rates will all see an increase, some tax classes will see a decrease in the education tax.
Residential and multi-residential properties will see a municipal increase of 3.87 per cent, but with the decrease in education tax, the residential total increase will be 2.493 per cent, and a 3.103 per cent total on multi-residential.
Commercial property, including vacant land will see an increase municipally of 3.87 per cent, but an overall decrease of 2.419 percent with the drop in the education tax.
Broad industrial will see one of the biggest changes of all tax classes, with an increase of municipal tax at 1.18 per cent, but an overall decrease of 6.308 per cent for both industrial and vacant industrial.
Large industrial receives the biggest benefit from the educational tax decreases, and this will include Domtar.  The municipal tax on this class will increase by 1.18 per cent, but will see a dramatic decrease in education tax.  The total overall tax change for this class will be a 13.384 per cent decrease.
Pipeline will see an increase of 3.87 per cent municipally and an increase of 0.488 per cent overall.  Farmland and managed forest will both see an increase of 2.493 per cent in total.
Levy changes for 2010 will include an increase of 4.1523 per cent for multi-residential, 3.0279 per cent for commercial and a 2.9329 per cent for industrial classes.
All tax rates were approved by council at a special meeting called on Wednesday, June 30.
