Obituaries — 27 April 2010

Rosie Rushowick (Stawarski) passed away peacefully at age 89 at Princess Court on April 20th, 2010.
Rosie, the youngest of five children, was born March 4, 1921 to Stefan and Michalina Stawarski in Secretan, Saskatchewan.  Shortly after, the family moved to Eton Rugby and later settled in Dryden.
Rosie began work at the St. Regis Bag Factory and then for the Dryden Paper Mill, but working as a homemaker for the Red Cross was the job she enjoyed the most.
In 1950, she married Mike Rushowick.  Their home just north of the Dryden city limits was a welcome place for family and friends to visit.  Her nieces and nephews have fond memories of the times spent with Auntie Rosie.  Her favourite activities included camping in their trailer on Godson Lake and looking after her dogs.
Rosie was predeceased by her husband Mike in 1992, her parents, her brothers Emil, Frank, Stanley and Ludwig and her nephews Harry and Stan Stawarski.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Annie Yanisiw, nieces Betty Lyle, Judi Stawarski, Barb Ostapovitch, Marg Stawarski and other relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service was held on Friday, April 23rd at 3:00 p.m. in the “Moffat Chapel” of the Stevens Funeral Homes with Father Alan Campeau officiating. Interment followed in the Dryden Cemetery.
If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or DECO-Princess Court Auxiliary through Stevens Funeral Homes, Box 412, Dryden, ON P8N 2Z1.
