After extensive fundraising and grant applications, the Light the Ball Diamonds campaign can begin its next phase.
The equipment was delivered and 16 60-foot poles are being installed around the four diamonds in three parts, the poles that are anchored into the ground, an additional pole that is placed on top at the light crossarms at the top to light the diamonds.
Although the lights are being installed now, they won’t be ready for use until the end of the season.
At the present time, there are no services being brought into the ball diamonds and until the proposed pavilion is built, there will be no power running to the lights.
The pavilion is still in the design stages but will consist of washrooms and a concession stand and some sort of viewing areas for all four baseball diamonds.
The pavilion should be in place and able to use by the end of the season.
