The Eagles girls’ hockey team squeaked out a win against the Beaver Brae Broncos last night in game #1 of the best of three NorWOSSA finals.
The girls got an early lead from Lauren Shoguchi but the Broncos evened the scored with just under nine minutes remaining in the first period.
Clair Paquette of the Eagles regained the lead three minutes to the buzzer.
The Broncos were able to tie the game and both teams rallied back and forth for that game winner.
The game-winning goal came from Alex Wesley late in the third period and the Eagles took game #1.
The girls are back in action in Keewatin on Sunday for game #2.
