The Eagles were looking to repeat the Winkler gold medal game result against the Beaver Brae Broncos last night at the Dryden Memorial Arena but it wasn’t happening.
The boys were down 2-1 going into the third when a goal midway through the period by Matt Bartlett tied the game at 2.
With just under five minutes left in the period, the Broncos answered with a goal of their own, defeating the Eagles 3-2.
Matt Bartlett and Ryan Lobreau scored one each for the Eagles.
In girls action, the DHS Eagles lost their first season game against the Red Lake Rams in a shootout. More details to come.
