Helen Dorothy Schatkowsky (nee: Letkeman) – February 15, 1925 – November 13, 2009

Helen passed away at Princess Court after a brief illness.  She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Alfred of 62 years; son Doug (Lynda) of Winnipeg, daughter Joanne (Ted) of Ottawa, grandchildren, Lucas, Jenna, Clinton, Clayton and great-grandchildren. Helen is also survived by her sisters; Anne, Betty, Shirley, Carol, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Helen was predeceased by her parents Nicholas (1975) and Mary (1999) her sister Mary (1933) and baby triplets.
Helen and Alfred were married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oldenburg on May 17, 1947.  They lived in Whitemouth until moving to Dryden in 1959.  In 2001 Helen and Alfred moved into Patricia Gardens, then to Princess Court in May 2009.  During their time in Dryden, Helen spent many happy times camping and fishing at Contact Bay, always with her loving husband.  Helen was a member of the Rebecca Sisters of the Lutheran Church, a homemaker for the Red Cross of Dryden, volunteered at Dryden Regional Hospital, Grace Haven and for Meals-on-Wheels.
